The client approached us to
transform their 1950s house, which had a beautiful garden but an
awkward internal arrangement and garden access, and an un-loved
exterior.
We redesigned the method and
formality of the entrance, re-planned the interior and added a
garden / breakfast room. Internal sliding doors were introduced
in order that the new spaces could be combined for larger
gatherings.
Western Red Cedar Shingles and
solid Douglas fir posts on the veranda, with the bridge, bind the garden and pond to the house as
well as linking the various elements
together.
