The interior of this house was
reconfigured in order to fulfil the client’s desire for a well-lit
family room. We were originally approached because of our experience
working with glass, encouraging a design that opens up to the morning light.
The strong vertical glazing
and Douglas Fir posts yawn up into the sky, slicing the wall into
slithers of wood and offering tantilising views out. A feature wall
between the kitchen and hallway is hollowed out with space for
objects or treasure, and some holes large enough for children to sit
in or dive through. This is complemented by a controllable colour
LED lighting display.
