Based around the ideas and
perceptions of void, or a gap in comprehension, the
Middle-Eastern-inspired Screen is made from more than 1800 pieces of
recycled or unused glass on edge, dangerously supported on clear
glass rods. The Screen acts as both surface and frame, separator and
communicator.
Part of the 2001 exhibition,
Touching the Void: Glass Sculpture
and Architectural Glass
by Henry Amos, it mixes sleight of hand with fun to try and find
some fresh, succinct, insight into the nature of edge and enclosure.
